Key Features

book2net Camera

The X71 not only sets new standards in the field of modern digital cameras, but also forms the heart of all our scanners. Our CMOS sensor technology is the key technology of the system and enables high-resolution recordings of archive materials, books, maps, seals and objects of all sizes and structures. The X71 camera is characterized by first-class image quality, flexible handling and unbelievable scanning speed.

LED Lighting Unit with Fresnel Lens System

Professional UV/IR and ozone free lighting system. With a light exposure of less than 2,500 lux and a service life of over 50,000 operating hours, the highest conservation and ecological requirements are met. A significant technological advantage over lighting from other manufacturers is the Fresnel lenses specially developed for the book2net lighting units. They ensure perfect light distribution and illumination. Unwanted and disturbing gradients and reflection effects, which otherwise occur in very light or very dark areas and also with shiny materials, are avoided.

Template Friendly Pressure Plate

The book2net folio can optionally be supplied with a transparent, book-friendly Makrolon® pressure plate. The plate is easy to assemble and disassemble as needed.

Optical Book Fold Optimization (BFO)

Thanks to its high depth of field of 12 cm and the integrated optical book fold optimization (BFO), the book2net folio guarantees constant image sharpness over the entire original surface and thus delivers excellent scanning results even on uneven, wavy surfaces. This applies in particular to the difficult book fold and edge areas. Due to the matrix sensor technology used, no subsequent manipulation or mathematical correction of the image data is necessary. The image data are thus available as raw data for digital archiving and further processing. In addition, thanks to its sharp contours, the scan result guarantees ideal conditions for precise OCR reading.

Conservatory Book Cradle

Fragile historical books, modern books, magazines, documents, files or ring binders – the self-regulating, conservational book cradle does justice to a wide variety of templates. It guarantees a particularly gentle treatment of the original and enables a quiet, low-motion scanning process. The adjustable spine release enables particularly gentle handling of very sensitive or thick books.
The contact surface is provided either with a scratch-resistant special film or with a non-reflecting, smooth lacquer coating. The book-friendly, transparent Makrolon® pressure plate can be used flexibly and can be removed quickly and easily if necessary. Depending on the requirements, the scan is triggered either via new sensitive touch fields (smooth touch) or via a footswitch.

Ergonomics in Focus

In addition to the larger image display, the new 23″ touchscreen monitor offers the additional functions of a proof monitor and increases ease of use thanks to the clear and larger display of the control buttons. The special thumbnail overview with drag-and-drop technology also enables convenient and quick insertion, deletion or moving. The innovative embedded controller technology with SSD storage technology and 64-bit system speeds up our data processing by up to 64% and significantly reduces the time spent on the device. A USB remaining capacity display is just as much a part of our ergonomics concept as electronic release buttons.
